  • This special issue, titled " Planning for Low-carbon and Intelligent Transportation and Energy Systems of Cities," aims to present a comprehensive overview of multidisciplinary research in intelligent transportation systems, energy systems, and sustainable urban mobility. The issue addresses the engineering and planning challenges associated with future complex transport and energy systems, focusing on their implications for urban planning while also presenting solutions to these problems. The special issue includes but not limited to the research questions: (i) the development of urban intelligent transport technologies for safer and more resilient systems, (ii) the integration of renewable distributive generation for powering cities, and (iii) the relationship between urban forms and flows to achieve a low-carbon footprint for greener mobility.
