The Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences has set the following four goals in the 2021 university development plan for the field of teaching:
- There is a broad and active discourse on teaching throughout the university
- Students develop professionally relevant skills in practical learning environments
- Teachers continuously develop their teaching
- Teaching is up-to-date in terms of current science and practice
