The Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) - released a video of Israeli prisoners whose captors they had announced losing contact with, and Al-Qassam announced in the video that they will announce their fate tomorrow.

On December 23rd last year, Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed the killing of 5 Israeli prisoners due to the ongoing raids by the occupation on the Gaza Strip, after Al-Qassam announced losing contact with the group responsible for them.

And Abu Ubaida's statement - at that time - added that among these prisoners were Hayim Perry, Yoram Meitzger, and Amiram Koubi, who appeared in a video clip broadcast by the Al-Qassam Brigades before that, demanding their leaders not to leave them in captivity and 'not to grow old in it'.

Families of Prisoners' Marches

On the other hand, the march of the families of the detained Israelis in Gaza continued its way towards the city of Jerusalem. The march started yesterday, Wednesday, from Re'im in the Gaza envelope.

The Families of the Prisoners' Association announced that hundreds of supporters joined today the march expected to reach Jerusalem on Saturday and will conclude with a massive rally in conjunction with the weekly protests demanding the release of the prisoners.

And this step comes amid the continued movement of Israeli prisoners' families to pressure Benjamin Netanyahu government to conclude an immediate deal to exchange prisoners, as his government faces criticism especially after the occupation forces caused the death of a number of detainees.

Two similar marches had previously left the Gaza Strip towards occupied Jerusalem in November/December of last year, each lasting about 5 days.

Negotiations continue through regional intermediaries to reach a new exchange deal and ceasefire between Hamas and Israel.

The Israeli occupation army says there are still about 130 Israeli detainees in the Gaza Strip, while it is believed that 30 of the detainees have died.

During the 7-day humanitarian ceasefire between Hamas and Israel in November, the resistance released 105 civilians held captive, including 81 Israelis, 23 Thais, and one Filipino, in exchange for 240 Palestinian prisoners.
