When it comes to worries about retirement, such as the '¥20 million retirement savings problem' that became a hot topic starting from the Financial Services Agency's report, it is indeed about money. Some people regret not having advanced further in their careers during their active years.

As a reason, he says, "My own pension benefits are only basic pension until the age of 74, but there is no shortage when including income from salary and personal pension."
Monthly expenses are about 26,000 yen. There has been no experience of using financial assets for living expenses, and it is said that a deposit of about 30,000 to 40,000 yen can be made from monthly income.
"Double work of a food supermarket and a recitation class"
The poster worked for a food supermarket and a food manufacturer during their active years. After retiring, they work in the early morning from 5:00 to 9:00 for 4 hours doing 'local food supermarket product display work', working 76 to 80 hours per month, and earning an annual take-home income of 1.02 million yen.
'It was tough to get used to working in the early morning, but there are no complicated cashier duties before the store opens. During weekdays, I hold a recitation class and receive a monthly instructor fee of about 80,000 yen. It seems that they have secured a stable income by utilizing their career and hobbies for a double work.'
'If I had planned my life earlier'
On the other hand, while being mindful of saving, the poster mentioned that they 'create their own household account book in Excel and input data every day.' They set a budget in advance for each monthly expense item on the vertical axis, with expense items on the horizontal axis, making the budget consumption rate clear. It seems that their experience from their active days is also being utilized.
Moreover, when asked if there was something they wished they had done differently during their active years, they commented, 'After graduating from university, I somehow ended up working at a food supermarket, but through several job changes, I eventually landed a sales position at a food manufacturer. I retired as a sales manager, but I deeply feel that if I had planned my life earlier, it would have been better.'
The current pleasure is reading (historical novels). It seems that they visit famous historical sites such as castles from the Warring States period several times a year and enjoy an active time with their spouse by planning a 3-night, 4-day drive.
