Safety in the vehicle from the beginning. In the new federal states, we are commissioned as a technical inspection agency to conduct theoretical and practical driving license examinations. Appointments with DEKRA are usually arranged through the driving school, which has an overview of the available dates.

As a rule, your driving school will arrange the dates for your practical and theoretical driving tests for you. However, we would like to provide you with some important information in the following.

Driving license examinations in the new federal states are carried out by the Technical Inspection Association of DEKRA e.V. Dresden. In six federal states and 22 offices, approximately 450 examiners are deployed for conducting driving license examinations. Both the theoretical and practical examinations are conducted by experienced officially recognized experts in motor vehicle traffic based on the Driving License Ordinance (FeV), the Motor Vehicle Expert Act (KfSachvG), the Road Traffic Act (StVG), and the DEKRA quality management system for driving license services.

Please note: The practical exam can only be taken after passing the theoretical exam and at the earliest one month before reaching the minimum age.
