Despite the ban on alcohol in Bihar, the illegal foreign liquor business is still thriving. A large consignment of liquor was found in a truck loaded with gravel going from Jharkhand to Supaul. Acting on confidential information from the Patna production department, Madhepura SP Sandeep Singh formed a special team and conducted a raid at Madhuvan Chowk in Bharrāhī police station area of Madhepura. The police seized the gravel-loaded truck, in which 76 cartons, equivalent to 748 liters of liquor, were hidden inside the gravel. The truck driver Ranjeet Kumar was arrested and the truck was confiscated.

According to the police, a truck loaded with a large quantity of illicit liquor from Jharkhand was being prepared to be smuggled in Supaul district. It is said that the seized liquor will be worth around 10 lakh. Madhepura ASP Pravendra Bharti informed that a large consignment of liquor was being transported from Jharkhand to Supaul district in Bihar. Madhepura ASP Sandeep Singh received confidential information from the Patna Excise Department based on which a special team was formed under the direction of ASP. The team included ASP Pravendra Bharti, Bachchan, the SHO of Bharrari police station, and Inspector Ramlakhan Pandit, along with dozens of police personnel. They seized the truck loaded with gravel at Madhuvan Chowk in the Bharrari police station area.

**In which 76 cartoons, meaning 748 liters of liquor, were found inside the sack, while truck driver Ranjit Kumar Kumar was arrested while seizing the truck, a case has been registered against the truck owner under the Excise Act at Bharrāhī Thana and further action is being taken. He mentioned that GPS has also been recovered from the truck, based on which other links are also being investigated. ASP Pravendra Bharti said that the seized liquor is being valued in millions.
