During vehicle checking, Mathurapur police seized 520 bottles of banned cough syrup from a car and apprehended a smuggler. The arrested smuggler, identified as Prakash Rawat from Beerpur village in Begusarai district, was reportedly leading a gang under the leadership of Sani Avadhesh Kumar Yadav. According to information received, police personnel under the leadership of Avadhesh Kumar Yadav were conducting vehicle checking near the market committee on Sunday. During the operation, the police attempted to stop a car coming from Darbhanga. The driver tried to flee with the car. When the police force chased, the driver stopped the car near Mathurapur Ghat and tried to escape. The police caught him after a scuffle. Upon searching the car, 520 bottles of cough syrup were found hidden under the seat. SP President Gulnaz Kaushar stated that after interrogation, the arrested smuggler was sent to judicial custody.
