Local SSB jawans patrolling on the India-Nepal border, based on secret information, intercepted a smuggler from Nepal near the Jheem River bridge in Kachharipur village on Sunday night, seizing 3120 bottles of 300 ml Nepali country liquor and one Scorpio DL 4 CNB 1120. The arrested smuggler has been identified as Rajiv Ray, son of Muneshwar Ray, a resident of Sahorba village in the Sonbarsa police station area. The SSB handed over the seized liquor and Scorpio along with the arrested smuggler to the local police station. The action team included Company Commander Inspector Ramesh Kumar Gwala, Head Constable Arjun Reddy, Constables Kumar Indrajit Suman, Nitesh Ranjan, Manish Swami, and Juvaid Ahmad. SHO Manish Kumar informed that the accused has been sent to judicial custody under the provisions of the Excise Act.
