Explaining the features of the painting tool LayerPaint HD for Android smartphones and tablets.

【Important】Switching User Interface

You can switch the user interface (appearance of the tool) from the "UI mode switch" in the menu button. The standard UI is designed for use on devices with 6 inches or larger. If you are using a device with a relatively small screen, it is recommended to use the smartphone interface on the right.

These examples were actually created from draft to production using LayerPaint HD.

  1. Main Screen (Standard UI)

This is the startup screen of LayerPaint HD.

At the initial state, all panels are displayed. 'Color Panel (B)' and 'Option Panel/Layer Panel (C) (E)' can be hidden to widen the workspace.

Color panel (B) is opened and closed with the top (leftmost) button on the left side of the screen, the toolbar (A).

The Option Layer Panel (C)(E) can be opened and closed by clicking the second button from the top (second from the left) on the left side of the screen, above the toolbar (A).

Toolbar (A) Touching each tool icon within the tool mode switches it. Depending on the selected tool, such as the brush tool, shape tool, or selection tool, the behavior of touch operations changes. Always keep track of what tool you are currently selecting.

The white area in the center of the screen is the canvas area (the area of the paper). Here, you can add lines and shapes to create a drawing. If the background is a checkerboard pattern, the background color is transparent. Specifying the background color (transparent or white) can be done from the menu. The display of the canvas can be zoomed in and out or moved with multi-touch operations.

Swipe operation and pinch operation multi-touch operations are important operations for the canvas.

Swipe operation, that is, by 'pulling parallel with two fingers (sticking two fingers to the screen)', you can move the canvas display.

Pinch operation, that is, by "sticking two fingers to the screen and moving them apart or closer together", you can zoom in and out of the canvas display. If you want to carefully draw a part of the picture, it is a good idea to enlarge the area you want to draw using the pinch operation.

These operations are the most important operations, so please try them first. It only changes the "appearance" of the canvas, and it does not actually make the canvas larger or smaller (the width and height on the image data do not change).

You can create a new canvas from the menu. You can specify the width and height of the canvas. You can also choose whether to make the background color of the canvas display transparent (displayed in a checkerboard pattern) or white. Making a canvas that is too large may reduce stability. Let's start with around 2000 * 2000 pixels. By pressing the paper button on the right side of the number, you can select a typical size.
