During this time, a four-wheeler approached quickly and fled after surprising the inspection team. When the vehicle was chased, the driver abandoned the vehicle on the roadside and escaped. The police took possession of the vehicle and conducted a search. During this time, another pickup van was seized and searched by the inspection team. Upon searching, a large quantity of liquor was found in the storage compartment. Two individuals traveling in the pickup van were taken into custody. They were identified as Om Shanti Kumar, son of Rajendra Pandit from Abhimanyu Nagar in the Chas police station area of Bokaro district in Jharkhand state, and Roshan Kumar, son of Narayan Sah from Keshavpur village in the Jhajha police station area of Jamui district. Both were found with a large quantity of English liquor in the pickup van. Additionally, a four-wheeler of maroon color parked on the roadside was also found with a large quantity of liquor. The SDPO mentioned that the number plates of two Bihar vehicles were also seized. The mobile phones of both liquor smugglers were confiscated. The SDPO mentioned that 218 liters of liquor were found in the Toyota car with registration number WB 06B 3788, while 424 liters of English liquor were seized from the pickup van with registration number WB 37E 2384. The SDPO mentioned that the approximate market value of the seized liquor is around nine lakh rupees. He stated that besides Begusarai district, the liquor was also intended to be supplied to a local hotel. The investigation into the case is ongoing. Sanjay Kumar Yadav, Kaushalendra Kumar, Kunj Bihari Kumar, Nandan Kumar, Nidhi Kumari, Govind Das, Pooja Kumari, and other police officials were involved in the raiding team.
