The developers of Shell Shockers occasionally make new proxy domains/sites for the game. Proxy domains are simply just an alternate websites to access Shell Shockers through. They are generally revealed in new issues of The New Yolker, sometimes announced on the Shell Shockers Twitter account and can be found on the Discord Server.[1]
The main reason for the creation of proxy websites is when an organization blocks a Shell Shockers URL, players will have alternative URLs to turn to. Sometimes these URLs may still not work and new ones may be released during the following New Yolker. If all of these links are blocked, you have no way to play Shell Shockers (other than disconnecting your computer completely). It is said that some alternate URLs have better FPS and ping than others, although not proved yet.
If you scroll down on any of the Shell Shockers URLs and click on "Play Shell Shockers Unblocked," it takes you to https://shellshock.io/unblocked, which shows you some of the alternate URLs that you can use if the main URL (https://shellshock.io.) is blocked. The last alternate URL is the shellshockers.today
The main website to access Shell Shockers, is of course, https://shellshock.io. There is a distinctive URL for this wiki, https://shellshockers.wiki. Surprisingly enough, this URL was not posted in any of the New Yolkers, which made it very hard to find!
